Where Do We Go From Here?

Hey family,

Excited for what God is going to do in your life this year!

We just finished our A Vision to Thrive series, unpacking our future together. We spent quite some time sharing our foresightsignposts and plumb lines, which are now listed on the Church 212 website.

Although, this first sermon series unpacks the building blocks of how we will move forward, they all fall under one central theme: The Kingdom of God Among Us, the present rule and reign of our gracious Savior and Lord.

We have Easter coming up, along with summer and fall sermon series. So I wanted to give you a heads up on what you can expect this year.

Easter Message and Theme

Easter Sunday we will unpack the meaning of resurrection life for future and present. This is the center of our message at Church 212, “with him you were raised to new life because you trusted in the mighty power of God who raised Christ from the dead.” Colossians 2:12

Our text will be the Beatitudes in Matthew 5, showing the blessed life Jesus gives to people in condition of great need. The message he proclaims is that regardless of your past failures, you are invited into his kingdom.

Once we accept Jesus' invitation for life in the Kingdom of God, that’s when human transformation and spiritual formation begin. This leads us into our nexts two sermon series.

Celebrate Recovery Series and Launch

Sharing from the Beatitudes will be a great kick off for our Celebrate Recovery ministry that launches that Tuesday night April 19th at 6pm. In support of this new ministry, we will begin a sermon series on the eight principles of Celebrate Recovery to overcome hurts, hangups, and habits.

This recovery series is a deeper dive into the eight Beatitudes of Jesus. Celebrate Recovery is led by our good friend Ira Liss. Be on the lookout for more updates.

Introducing Spiritual Formation

Following the Celebrate Recovery series, we will do a short series introducing the concept of “spiritual formation," which is the process of human transformation by Christ's power alone, assisted by spiritual rhythms and practices. This is where you will be introduced to the theme of soul care, or the forming of your soul health.

As promised, we will have a variety of sermon series every year: topical, books of the Bible, doctrinal, and thematic for each season we are in. So a little later this year we will get into the book of James as a church family.

This Fall

Finally, just before the Christmas season, we will do a "preparatory series,” that will swing us into next year’s theme. I am certainly praying now about how the Lord wants to do that. So please be in prayer with me but also in communication about how you’re feeling and what you're thinking.

I value your experiences, spiritual needs, and voice.

P.S. We invite you to take our Thrive Assessment and we'll send you possible next steps for your spiritual journey.
